EDI images help cancer patients express the complex and often difficult emotions they experience while navigating treatment. Through creating and sharing images, patients often experience increased hope, resilience, and connection.

Patients with mental health challenges often have extreme difficulty expressing their emotions. EDI programs help patients to convey thoughts and feelings more effectively with their clinicians, ultimately improving treatment outcomes.

EDI technologies and practices have been integrated into addiction treatment programs to help patients at all stages of treatment. Patients find they are able to express thoughts and emotions in ways beyond what was possible through words alone.

EDI Pilot Research

The EDI Institute partnered with New England Research Institutes to conduct quantitative pilot research at the Gosnold Addiction Center. Results of the research study include the following:

  • 98% enjoyed using EDI
  • 92% felt able to share something through imagery that they were otherwise uncomfortable sharing
  • 93% felt that EDI improved the effectiveness of their treatment

EDI Integration into Evidence-Based Therapies

EDI technologies and practices are designed to be integrated into existing behavioral health therapies to increase their effectiveness. EDI programs have been developed to support leading evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

EDI Accessibility

EDI programs are designed to be easy to use and accessible for everyone. Our MyMoments mobile app takes only minutes to learn, and has been used thousands of all ages and backgrounds. Our work has included autistic children as young as six, and veterans in their seventies with PTSD.

The MyMoments app has already been translated into French, Spanish, and Portuguese, and can be easily translated into additional languages with minimal effort.

We are continuously expanding our programs and technology to reach increasingly diverse populations.
