Young Man Uses EDI to Describe Journey with Mental Illness

Individuals being treated for mental illness often create and share EDI imagery as therapeutic expressions of their own recovery journeys.

A clinician at McLean Hospital described this image created by a young man struggling with bipolar disorder this way: “He has been talking about the long road towards recovery, emphasizing the struggles by adding the scratches and tilting the picture, but at the same time, he brightened the image to show “the light at the end of the tunnel” and the hope to get more stable.”
