Recently, EDI was featured in McLean Hospital’s 2015 Year in Review. Susan Camuti, a McLean patient who has used EDI extensively, explains how EDI has helped her to express aspects of her bipolar disorder in ways that go beyond what is possible through the spoken word. Leading McLean clinicians also describe the positive impact that EDI is having on clinical programs.
Our work at McLean continues to expand, including new applications of EDI in programs helping teens with severe anxiety and young women with eating disorders. Additionally, the design of clinical research at McLean to qualitatively and quantitatively measure the impact of EDI on patient outcomes has begun. We expect all this work to create a strong foundation for the integration of EDI into psychiatric hospitals and clinics across the country.
